So these days with there being no available sources of txp butterfly
pouches with sig strips and mag stripes how are people mimicking those
features?

I suppose for the mage strip, if you can't find TXP with it (which I
just searched quick and couldn't), try getting some 5 mil TXP, cutting
a mag strip from a standard pouch, and sandwiching it. Should still
scan, think using a plastic bag to get bad strips to scan. The feel
may be a little off tho. As for the sig strip, no clue. Although the
strip on the back of CC's when it peels reminds me a lot of the
rollable white-out. Don't know how that stuff fairs under heat and
what it's bonding properties are like, but its something to look into.

5 Mil txp? Where can you buy 5 mil txp? I've heard some people tape off
the whole back portion of the lam but leave what would be the sig strip
uncovered, and then to sand it down or use some 3M matte spray or
something along those lines. Either or

Honestly, I'm not sure where you'd be able to find 5mil, but i figured
it was worth a look. And I suppose the masking method would work, all
depends on exactly what style of a sig strip you'd be looking for.

It is illegal to sell txp with mag strip (let alone with matte sig
strip). You need to find a nice south american dealer (they'll know
exactly what you need) who will be able to provide you with some
(usually no fewer than 500). last i heard [someone] was using some
company in brazil.

I do not see why they are illegal in the US, usually people sell
anything "ignorant" to what they can be used for. e.g. for a long
while shrooms were legal in the UK asl ong as they were fresh, but if
you dried them, fried them, or froze them they became a class A drug.

Anyway you can buy your supplies from the UK, it's legal over here to
sell sig strips on pouches and you can find mag strips on some over
here if you research hard enough.

You guys are looking at it the wrong way. They are still made, and
some people are still able to get them legally for various reasons.
Who would "they" be, and why would "they" be getting them? And last,
could "you" become one of "them", even if only temporarily? If done
properly, it usually takes no more than a phone call or an
official-looking letterhead to get the process started. I know this
isn't exactly the kind of answer you were looking for, but why go
through all that if you don't have to, eh? Pleasant dreams, all. -

Well, do you know where any of these people are legally getting this
done? Besides going directly to transilwrap.com ???

Isn't there an alternative laminate which can be used to bind with txp
for the backs. I dont even see full sheet gloss laminates with hico
magstripe. Plenty of txp fullsheets and txp butterflys, just no
magstripes.

I remember someone saying that it warps toward the front because the
bonding strength of TXP is more than the glossy I believe.

yea txp with gloss back is no fucking good. that shit bends so nasty.
txp has much stronger bonding properties than gloss so its a definite
no go. i tired cutting the stripes of some 3 mil gloss pouches and
that works but doesnt look too great.
