so i got all of the pearl ex colors i need, and mixed them all, etc. i
understand that you i have to apply it to wet ink, but do i print the
yellow hologram before ading the pearl ex onto the sheet of teslin with
the id, or do i print it onto the pouch? and if im supposed to do it
on the pouch, how can i load the pouch into my printer and configure
everything to print right?

Print out the hologram in black on a plain white piece of paper first,
then tape down the pouch so it's perfectly flat, glossy side-down
(usually you only use half of the pouch and cut off the other half to
laminate seperately). Also, you apply the pearl ex to the pouch, not
the teslin. Anything else, ask around, as I've never actually tried
the inkjet method myself, only the ALPS.

I have been experimenting with this with some good results but nothing
good enough so far. If I lightly dust the pearlEX on then the holo
isn't defined enough, when I completely coat then use the air jet
method it is still too apparent :(

did you mix the pearl-ex with a base of some kind? maybe you can dilute
it with more base.

Are their still any sites or forums up these days for info? I have lots
of tutorials from back in the day. I assume MA uses a different ID now?

I need a base, it will need to be a silver/grey as the real hologram
appears silver when viewed directly, but when tilting the card it
appears gold.

Would I use interference silver as a base? Or just usual silver
pearlEX?

No. you can use a real trasparent base like the one speedball offers.
or
you can use something cheap like glue. Pearl ex needs a base
as far as i know the interference colors dont but this is all just
opinion

Does the ink not act as a base?

Thanks

You do not need a base for pearl-ex. You merely dust the pouch with
the pearl-ex, run it through the ALPS, and wash off the excess powder.
As for the inkjet method, I imagine you dust the pouch with pearl-ex
after printing the yellow ink. In either case, you don't need to use a
base.

But the problem is when viewed deado n th holo should be a dull
silver, but when viewed at an angle it should be interference gold. I
wasn't sure how to achieve this affect as mixing will create the same
colour no matter what angle it is viewed at. Any ideas?

Thanks
