So I finally get this stuff underway, results are great, but Im having
problems with the last step. I separate the pouches prior to lam to
avoid the strip along the joint with no teslin. From there i've been
laminating one side, then using the laminate as a guide to cut off the
excess teslin. Then laminating the other side on. Even with tape
though, I just cant seem to get things to line up perfect, and even
being careful I just cant seem to get all the teslin around the edges
cut. Looks good while cutting, then straight on, it doesn't.

I know a die cutter would solve this problem, but seeing as I dont have
$$$ to drop on one, that's out. How well do those perforated sheets of
teslin work? Looked to me like once removed they would have that
texture along the edges that most perforated media has.

I use a guilletine, not sure if they are called that in the US though
:s

This is an example:

They cut perfect edges if you align the card alright.

Hope this helps

On your template setup crop marks, so after u print u can easily align
your pouch to your temp and then after u laminate it u can cut the
excess teslin away easily and everything will be aligned.

Using a diecutter is really helpful if you have the extra cash, if you
are good with an exacto knife just use that and possibly just have like
a credit card or some pvc card that u put over your lamianted id to use
as a guide to cut around it with your exacto knife to get the excess
teslin off.

If you want to get really nice corners, you can get a corner cutter
which will cost u like $100 (instead of like 400-800 $ for a diecutter
that will cut out the entire id)
