Hello, ive been searching for somewhere to ask and not quite sure if
ive come to the right place but if anyone could give me any advice it
would be much aprreciated.

My brother has just offered to take me on holiday to new york, and i
know the first thing that will probably come to mind is that you dont
wanna be using fake id there. Im 20 and so wont be able to go out to
clubs or bars on an evening, and so i was wondering what would be the
best idea to use as a fake id just to get into the smaller bars etc

Im pretty resigned to the fact its probably a waste of time but you
never know

Thanks
Ian

There are TONS of places in NYC that will take your ID. From my
experience, most of the smaller bars/clubs could care less if you have
a fake or not -- they just want your cover charge. I just wouldn't use
it at the bigger clubs or bars, especially near Times Square... But if
you head over to SoHo or Chinatown, you'll be set. Also, if you don't
have an ID, you can pick up one on just about any corner in SoHo in a
shop that says "novelty identification". They won't be the best ID and
they'll probably rip you off, but it'll get you into most of the
bars/clubs around there. Good luck and have fun -- it's a crazy city.

I was 19. A flash of my passport got me in everywhere
